360 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, Australia
Expo 2020 Dubai offers Australian businesses unprecedented access to commercial opportunities throughout the Middle East, particularly as countries in the region implement extensive plans to diversify their economies and build human capital.
To take full advantage of these opportunities, Australian companies must be sufficiently prepared to enter markets with different regulatory systems and business practices.
Rigby Cooke Lawyers in partnership with the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) will deliver a seminar on legal avenues for risk mitigation, focussing on the export of services to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Topics to be discussed include:
- exporting and selling services overseas: legal agreements, arbitration and dispute resolution options
- regulatory environment considerations in the MENA region
- protecting intellectual property rights, performance bonds and penalty clauses, bilingual contracts, Value Added Tax (VAT)
- the human factor: sending Australian staff to work in the MENA region, recruiting local staff
Networking over refreshments will follow the seminar and provide the opportunity for one-on-one conversations with the team from Rigby Cooke Lawyers.
