Victorian Government announced today that one of Australia's premier tech events, the Australian Computer Society’s (ACS) Reimagination Thought Leaders’ Summit and Digital Disruptors Awards, have chosen to relocate and call Melbourne home.

A significant industry in its own right generating annual revenues in excess of A$34 billion, Victoria's digital technology sector plays a major role in the state's economy.

The government has invested heavily in strengthening Victoria's position as Australia's innovation and tech hub, and Reimagination’s choice to call Melbourne home is another strong achievement and substantial boost for Victoria’s booming tech sector.

The Summit will help celebrate Australia’s tech talent, drive innovation and raise the profile of tech as one of the state’s competitive advantages underpinning our economic growth.

Over 900 of the nation’s tech leaders from industry, government and education will share ideas and connect at the event, where solutions to some of the key technical and ethical questions of the digital age will be on the table for discussion.

Reimagination will join a growing list of Australia’s biggest and best tech events that take place in Melbourne, including C2, Cisco Live and the National iAwards.

ACS is Australia’s national peak body for digital technology representing 37,000 practitioners and professionals, over a quarter of which are Victorian.

Reimagination will be held on 1 November 2018 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
