The Victorian Government is investing in the future of Victorian businesses with $14.5 million in new funding that will help businesses grow.

Under the Boost Your Business program, Victorian businesses will be able to apply for vouchers to access targeted services from January 2018. The vouchers will provide funding for businesses to engage registered service providers to undertake activities such as developing new products, improving business processes and systems, identifying new export markets, undertaking research and development or gaining certification.

The vouchers will be available under four different streams, which have been developed in close consultation with relevant industry groups and peak bodies. They include:

  • The Advancing Victorian Manufacturing stream, which will deliver key components of the Advancing Victorian Manufacturing: A Blueprint for the Future, supporting manufacturers to  develop new products, enhance their processes and capabilities and grow export opportunities.
  • A dedicated Food Innovation stream, delivering on the Food and Fibre Sector Strategy, targeting businesses in the food value chain and support development of the Food Innovation Network.
  • In an Australian first, the Social Enterprise Capability stream will provide support for social enterprises to help them build skills and capacity, increasing their ability to employ and support disadvantaged jobseekers. This is part of the Victorian Government’s Social Enterprise Strategy released in March 2017.
  • The Asia Gateway stream, part of the Victorian Government’s China Strategy – Partnerships for Prosperity, will support Victorian businesses to develop the knowledge, networks and skills to increase their business and export activity in Asian markets or with Asian clientele.

Victorian businesses are encouraged to speak with service providers ahead of the opening of the first round on 29 January 2018.
