eCommerce in China is providing new opportunities for Victorian businesses to offer their products directly to the homes of families in China.
More than half of the 2017 Victorian Invitation Program (VIP) international delegates were from China – Victoria's largest two-way trading partner worth A$18.9 billion a year.
eCommerce was a major highlight of VIP 2017 with Victorian delegates keen to network and learn how to tap into China's booming eCommerce market –the world's largest with an estimated 688 million internet users spending more than US$779 billion each year.
Featuring an impressive line-up of speakers, the VIP 2017 fashion and lifestyle eCommerce workshop focused on selling into China and utilising social media to capture new markets and tap into China's booming eCommerce industry.
Australia is now one of the five most active countries on Tmall – China's largest online marketplace – with health and nutrition products being especially popular with the Chinese market. Companies such as Goat Soap Australia, Chemist Warehouse, Blackmores and Nature's Way continue to top the Tmall sales charts.
Both China and Australia are experiencing strong developments in eCommerce, and opportunities are rapidly emerging for Victorians to share in the wealth to be made from China's booming middle-class.
