ANCA is a market leader of high quality CNC tool and cutter grinders. Founded in Melbourne in 1974, it makes a wide range of machines for companies who manufacture cutting tools such as end-mills, turbine blades and medical parts for the aerospace, automotive and medical sectors.
The ANCA group has successfully established itself in a wide range of export markets, and now exports over 99 per cent of its products to over 40 countries. To support its customers it has offices in the UK, Germany, China, Thailand, India, Japan, Brazil and the USA as well as a comprehensive network of representatives and agents worldwide.
In 2015, ANCA was awarded a Governor of Victoria Export Award in the manufacturing category. It went on to win Exporter of the Year in the Australian Export Awards.
Greg Perry, ANCA’s International Marketing Manager said that receiving the Victorian Government award had boosted the company’s profile in Australia.
“ANCA in Australia is not very well known as we don’t make a commodity product and we are 99 per cent export,” he said. “Winning the Victorian Government export award and eventually the Australian one gave us exposure within Australia as to who we are and the success we’ve had.
ANCA participated in the Victorian Government’s Defence Trade Missions to the United States in 2014 and 2015. The first mission involved introductory business meetings with key decision makers from major defence companies including Boeing.
In 2015, ANCA exhibited as part of the Victorian Government’s stand at the Sea-Air-Space Expo in Maryland, United States.
“ANCA’s core market in the United States has not been within the defence sector, and we’ve traditionally found it a difficult market to break into,” said Greg.
“Attending the defence missions allowed us to meet with suppliers and key businesses within defence. It helped facilitate connections with the right people.”
“Getting access to these type of companies and meeting the right people is a challenge and the trade missions made this very easy.”
