Victoria has a strong economy, a supportive government, the most substantial defence industy supply chain within Australia, a skilled workforce and a world-leading university sector with strong scientific, research, engineering capabilities on top of that a strong professional services sector within a tremendous infrastructure. Melbourne is the most liveable city in the world. It's a great place for defence organisations to set up and to invest.
Rohan Stocker, Chair of the Victorian Defence Alliance - Submarines, discusses the strength of the alliance - a collaboration of about 100 organisations in Victoria that can work together to bring together research and development (R&D), advanced manufacturing and other capabilities to aid in the global supply chain of submarine manufacturers. Victoria has alliance members that export to some of the biggest defence programs in the world.
